First Baseball Game

On Wednesday night Kevin had a work function at the Indians game.  So, we decided to take both boys and head downtown to attend.  The plan was that the boys and I would pick Kevin up from work at 5:00 and head downtown for a cookout and the game - first pitch at 7:05.  Sounds good, right?  Well, our schedule says that dinner is at 5:30 and bedtime is at 7:30.  So, driving downtown during dinner time and being at the game during bedtime... what could possibly go wrong?

At first, B loved it.  He was sitting in the stroller eating his hot dog.  His first hot dog by the way, and he loved it!  However, it didn't take long for him to want to be out of the stroller.  In the picnic area there is a big grassy hill.  He just wanted to run down the hill.  He thought it was great fun!  However, when we picked him up to go do something else, he had a major meltdown.  Screaming toddler.  Ugh.  Then we walked around the ballpark for a bit - Kevin holding his hand.  He enjoyed that, but about 7:30 we decided it was time to leave and tried to put him in the stroller.  Holy temper tantrum.  We handle the tantrums by ignoring them, so he was just carrying on for awhile.  Yep - we were "those people" with the screaming toddler.  I'm sure that everyone thought we were horrible parents and our child is not well behaved.  Oh well.  What are you going to do?  A weekend daytime game might have been a better option...

It was a good time for awhile though!
