6 Months Old!

Braden turned 6 months old on Wednesday! It's hard to believe how big he is getting!

Here are some things that he is doing now:

- Rolling over in both directions and really enjoys rolling across the room

- "Talking" more and making this awful growling noise that sounds pretty evil at times!

- Sitting with support

- Scooting to what he wants

- Working on crawling... he gets onto his knees and elbows but then doesn't know what to do

- Laughing more and smiling all the time

- Finally taking good naps! He naps for 1 to 1.5 hours at a time now.

- Sleeping from 7:30 to 12:30, then we change his diaper and put him back down. He goes right back to sleep and sleeps until 4:30 or so when he wants a bottle. Then he sleeps again until somewhere between 6 and 7:30.

- He LOVES Rocco!

- He is eating baby food 3 times a day now and pretty much likes everything as long as it is not green

He went to the pediatrician today and here are his 6 months stats:

14 pounds 12 ounces (5th percentile - normal for Braden)

27 3/8 inches long (75th percentile)

42cm head circumference (10th percentile - again, normal for Braden)

First Foods

Braden has started eating baby food! Such a big boy!

We started out about 2 weeks after his 4 month pediatrician appointment and tried rice cereal first. He wanted absolutely nothing to do with it! He gets a lot of rice cereal in his bottles anyway, so he looked at us like we were crazy trying to give it to him from a spoon. We decided not to force it and just move on to fruits and veggies. It only took him a few times to figure it out and now he eats really well.

We can only introduce one new food every few days, so it's taking awhile to get through them all. So far, he LOVES sweet potatoes. I would have to say those are by far his favorite. He also enjoys pears, apples, peaches, and carrots. He is not a fan of bananas or green beans.

Mmmm, carrots...

Yuck! I don't like to green beans at all!

Braden's First Halloween

Braden celebrated his first Halloween this past Monday. Of course, he didn't get any candy, and really didn't like being in his costume - but it's really more for the parents, right? At least at this age... His friend next door, Lila, came over and they were so cute! Lila is about 7 weeks older than Braden and they go to the same babysitter during the day.

Not much to say about this, but he is just so cute!

Well, I see it's been awhile since I've updated the blog! Time just keeps flying around here!

Braden turned 4 months old on October 14! Four months! His pediatrician says he is doing great. He was 12 pounds 9 ounces and was 25 5/8 inches long! That puts him in about the 10th percentile for weight and the 75th percentile for height. He also said that we can start to feed him baby food, but more on that later.

We went to Arizona for my 10 year high school reunion a few weeks ago. Here are some photos:

Braden's first experience with baby food was entertaining. We tried pears first, and he LOVES them. However, now anything we feed him just doesn't compare to the pears...
Give me more of those pears!

Braden has also learned how to roll over! He does it all the time but then gets mad because he does not like being on his tummy!

And, we are starting to laugh around here!

A Boy And His Dog

The other day Braden was playing with his toys on the floor. He really likes this firefly toy that squeaks and makes other fun noises. This toy drives Rocco crazy. He literally can't stand it. As you can tell from the photo, he really wanted that toy.

We had previously taken all of Rocco's stuffed toys away because he was destroying them all. I felt guilty that he wanted Braden's toy so badly and I kept saying no, so I got one of his old toys out for him to play with. He was so excited! After about 5 minutes, he brought it over to Braden and tried to share his toy! It was so cute :)
