Welcome Baby Hall!

Baby Hall made his debut one week ago today! And yes, I did say his debut - that was not a typo! We thought we had a little girl on the way and were very surprised when the doctor said "It's a Boy! Didn't you say you were having a girl?"

Welcome Braden Nicholas Hall! Born Tuesday June 14, 2011 at 9:00am. He weighed six pounds 12 ounces and was 20/5 inches long.
We were obviously completely shocked that our little baby was a boy! The gender did not make a bit of difference to us and we are just completely thrilled that we have a very healthy baby. It did take a little while for the shock to wear off. Even now I look at him and think about how I can't believe that we have a boy :)

My recovery has gone very well and I'm feeling almost back to normal.

We are noticing changes in Braden every day. He has been sleeping well the past two nights and will sleep anywhere from 2 to 3 hours at at time, so we feel that we are getting enough sleep at night and aren't complete zombies :)

He is a very good eater and would probably eat all day long if we let him! We went to the pediatrician for a weight check yesterday and he was back up to 6 pounds 11 ounces (he was 6 pounds 5 ounces when we left the hospital). The nurse said that a lot of babies aren't back up to their birth weight until their 2 week check up, so I think we are ahead of schedule!

Today is the first day that he has been awake more during the day and not eating during that time! Until now, it has been sleep, wake up and eat, and then go back to sleep.

Ready to get this show on the road...

One More Week!

June 14 is the day! That's right - less than one week from today. We are excited :) But frantically trying to wrap things up at work. For Kevin, it is not as big of an issue since he will only be out about two weeks. For me, trying to wrap up anything that could come up before August 22 is more of a challenge...

The Nursery

The baby's room is complete! Well, almost. As soon as we decide on a name it will be complete :)

Her name will be on the wall above the changing table. Eventually.

36.5 Weeks

I have been trying to post this since Thursday but Blogger was not working for some reason, so it's a bit late :)
Most of you already know but this baby has decided she is pretty comfortable where she is and will not be "getting into position". We have opted to go with a scheduled c-section but the date is still to be determined. We are not disappointed about the c-section at all. I'm actually more comfortable with that idea anyhow. I've had two surgeries before, so it's no big deal to me!

They did an ultrasound to confirm her position, and they could tell immediately she was still breech. They said everything looks good but we did not get any pictures this time. They took some measurements to determine her size. Size measurements are notoriously inaccurate, so we aren't betting this is accurate at all, but they estimate she is somewhere between 5 pound 8 ounces and 6 pounds 8 ounces. I guess we will have to wait and see!

We will know more at the end of next week after our next appointment and will let you know. We will let you know what day the c-section will happen, but we will not be letting people know what time it is scheduled for. The c-section is a relatively quick procedure as far as delivery goes, but it takes time for them to finish with me. Then there is recovery time before I can be with the baby. It is really important to Kevin and I that we have time alone as a new family for a little while before we start having visitors. And, we have to pick a name! And, since we don't know exactly how long it will be, we decided that the best option is to call when we are ready to have people at the hospital. But don't worry, I'm sure Kevin will call/text to let you know that all went well, and will probably even send out a picture :)

It's Almost Summertime!

The weather has finally been nice here! Actually, it was WAY too hot for the beginning of May this week. I think we hit 92 earlier this week... But, it's much better than dealing with the cold, so I'll take it!

We were able to get our garden planted this week. Kevin expanded it a bit this year, so hopefully everything will do great!

We planted tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, red onions, peas, asparagus, zucchini, and yellow squash this year.

Since it was so hot outside, we got Rocco's pool out of the garage and let him play in it. He LOVES the water and always has a great time. Look at how happy he is!

This is him in his pool last summer... I think he's grown a bit!

Mommy's cute little boy with his underbite!

34 Weeks

Only about 6 weeks left! For my birthday, all I wanted was a 4D ultrasound! We have not had an ultrasound since 21 weeks when we found out the gender and we will not get another one at the doctor's office unless there is a concern. SO, we decided to get a private ultrasound! Of course, our little girl was being shy and did not want to cooperate! This was not a big surprise because that is how it went at our last ultrasound too! She spent the entire time with her foot up by her face, but we were able to get some good photos!

Oh, and she has some chunky cheeks!

There is that foot - right in front of her face!
She was either smiling or yawning in this one.

Again with the yawning - we were interrupting nap time :)
